This sculptural midi dress is made from authentic Xiangyun silk, also known as Gambiered Canton Silk — a traditional Southern Chinese textile created through repeated natural yam-dyeing, mineral-rich mud treatment and sun finishing.
The labour-intensive, weather-dependent process gives the silk its deep colour, subtle lustre and softly structured drape. No industrial finish can reproduce exactly the same character, and the fabric becomes richer and more personal with wear.
A relaxed silhouette skims the body, while gathered sleeves add controlled volume. Minimal lines allow the textile itself to remain the focus, moving easily from gallery visits and travel to dinners and special occasions.
